Hurricane Sandy Relief

On Sunday, November 18, we will be heading to volunteer to help clean up after Hurricane Sandy.

We will meet at 11:45 a.m. at the High Street A/C station in Brooklyn Heights and head to 27-16 Healy Avenue, Queens, NY 11691. We will volunteer from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., and then plan to return back to Brooklyn around 6.

The Mizzou St. Louis Alumni Association has donated $100 for hurricane relief, which we will use to purchase cleaning supplies.

Volunteers will help with collection and distribution of items, as well as clean up throughout community.

We are collecting the following items at the game watch at Percy’s for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Please no perishable foods or used clothing. We will bring donations to Queens on Sunday.

• Bottled water
• NEW blankets
• Paper goods – toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
• Cleaning products
• Flashlights and lanterns
• Batteries (AA, D, C)
• Non-perishable foods

MizzouNYC will not provide transportation, but Michelle Bonarji has rented a Zipcar that can seat seven people. If you would like to join the carpool, please bring $15 to help cover the rental. If you have your own car and can drive others, please let us know. Otherwise, you can also meet us in Queens.

Please RSVP to michelle@mizzounyc.com or by phone/text to 757-350-5004.
